Q – How do I get a tour brochure?

A – You can download brochures by going to a tour on this website. Click the “Brochure” tab above the tour description. Or you can send us an email to info@stolavtravel.com and we’ll get one off to you in the mail right away. TOP

Q – How do I sign up?

A – You can sign-up by filling out an application form and mailing it to us with your deposit check or you can sign-up online by clicking the “Add to Cart”-button on the individual tours. You can change the number of participants you want to sign up for the tour by changing the quantity in the shopping cart. To confirm your reservation you must go to checkout and pay the deposit. Q – What is included in the cost of the tours?

A – The tours include just about everything: round-trip airfare from NY/NJ (unless otherwise specified), with airport taxes and fuel surcharges (unless otherwise specified), land transportation by motorcoach (and sometimes air and rail), hotel accommodations in double room occupancy, breakfast and dinner daily (and lunch is sometimes included as well), and guided touring as specified on the individual itineraries. The tours are fully hosted as well. TOP

Q – What happens after I sign up for a tour and pay the deposit?

A – A booking and payment confirmation will be sent to you by email or mail confirming your reservation and letting you know your balance and when your final payment is due. TOP

Q – How much is the deposit?

A – The amount of deposit required to hold a reservation is $500.00 (unless otherwise specified) and is non-refundable. TOP

Q – Can I get a referral of your company?

A – Yes, we would be happy to give you the contact information of other pilgrims or organizations, perhaps from your area, who have traveled with us in the past. TOP

Q – When is the balance of my final payment due?

A – Approximately 50 days prior to the tour. TOP

Q – When do I receive my final tour documentation?

A – After your final payment and approximately 3 weeks prior to departure you will receive your airline ticket or an e-ticket receipt as well as a travel brief detailing your meeting point information, flight schedule, baggage limitations, hotel phone numbers and country specific information (i.e. weather, currency, suggested dress and items to bring, baggage limitations and suggested gratuity amount). A – We use only the major scheduled carriers. TOP

Q – How much luggage can I bring?

A – The standard luggage allowance for international travel is 1 suitcase (50lbs. max and measuring in size no more than 62 inches adding together the length + height + width per piece), plus 1 carry-on bag (40 lbs. max), plus an additional item such as a purse, camera bag or laptop. This allowance varies according to the airline and the destination. Additional luggage is permitted at cost. TOP

Q – Are airport taxes and fuel surcharges included in the cost of the tours?

A – Yes, in most cases airport taxes and fuel surcharges are included. TOP

Q – What is the average size of your tours?

A – Approximately between 18 and 35 persons. TOP

Q – Are gratuities included in the cost of the tours?

A – No. We detail the suggested amount in the travel brief sent to you prior to the tour. The amount per tour for the bus driver, guides and hotel and restaurant staff varies depending on the length of the tour. TOP

Q – What is your cancellation policy?

A – If cancellation in writing (email cancellation is valid) is received more than 45 days prior to departure, a full refund less the $500.00 deposit will apply. If cancellation in writing is received within 45 days prior to departure your deposit plus any amount that the airlines, hotels and ground operators withhold are non-refundable. TOP

Q – What official entry documentation is required?

A – For any travel outside the United States, in most cases, passengers must have a valid passport. For some countries a birth certificate and a driver’s license is sufficient. For US citizens, visas are not generally required. Depending on the country you are visiting we will give you the country-specific entry requirements. TOP

Q – What form of payment do you accept?

A – The tour cost is based upon payment by personal check or direct bank transfer. You can also pay by credit card with a 3.5% surcharge by sending into St. Olav Travel your written authorization.. TOP

Q – Do I pay extra if I am traveling alone?

A – Yes, the tour costs are based on two persons sharing a room. The hotels charge a supplement for a single room, which varies according to the property. If you are traveling alone and would like a roommate and someone signing up for the tour also requests a roommate we can arrange for you to share. Otherwise you would have to pay the additional cost for a single room. TOP

Q – Is travel insurance included in the cost?

A – Insurance is not included. Information will be sent to you upon request. TOP

Q – Can you arrange my air travel from my home city to the airport where the pilgrimage departs from?

A – Yes, just indicate that you would like us to check on this for you when you sign up for a tour. We will research the best flights for you from your home city. Oftentimes we can secure special fares called add-ons if the airline we are flying with for the tour also serves your home city. TOP
